Beausoleil Blouse - Cotton Lawn

Itch to Stitch Beausoleil Dress & Top - I was attracted to the French name, and the option for peplum. It's a simple versatile design, but also interesting enough to want to sew and feel pretty in it. I also like the smart appearance of sleeve cuffs in shirt patterns. I used rose print cotton lawn and white cotton lawn for facings.
This is an intermediate sewing pattern because it uses an all in one facing, understitching and pulling the back pieces through the shoulders can be tricky but it looks beautifully neat. I also edge stitched mine. The front and back facings and sleeve bands are interfaced, along with the centre back zip. I'd sew it again but stick with cotton lawn or viscose, something that presses easily. I used an invisible zip as that is what I already had left over from last summer and silver hook and eye. I think the cut outs add a modern edge to a granny chic print like this one! I bought the fabric as it reminded me of the rose in beauty and the beast. I found this interesting to sew as it is a different technique and it looks chic.

80s Style Tilly Agnes

I needed to make some plain tshirts so I sewed the Tilly Agnes Top again (size 4 body, size 5 sleeves and armsyce. I also ran out of sewing machine needles for wovens! I had a tshirt just like this which my grandma thrifted from a charity shop in the 80s/90s! When I purchased the royal blue jersey I knew what to make first as it's the same colour.
I finished off the neckline and sleeve edge with a zigzag stitch.

It's a really lovely pattern in a plain colour fabric , you never need to buy tshirts again - it comes with a plain sleeve too. PDF £9.50.  I've worn this to work with a navy chino skirt, it's smarter than your usual tshirt!

Hinksey Lake - Anza Dress

Thank you Sarah for the photos of my viscose Itch to Stitch Anza dress! My easy to wear 'dress down friday' dress. I wore it with a dreamcatcher pendant, tan skinny belt, and a blue bracelet we bought in Oxford cornmarket.
Princess hair! I can't wait to make Sarah a sewing gift.

Hawaiian Shirt Willamette

Cotton twill in a rainforest print, cropped version. I sewed it after work Tuesday night and added the sleeve cuffs in the morning. I love it! I used dark brown - clear faux horn buttons. It looks beautiful inside with the burrito method back yoke and French seams. It's good to know you can sew a shirt in one evening too!

I actually love sewing shirts, the feeling of satisfaction when complete and enjoying the process. Also I purchased the Cheyenne shirt, I fancy sewing a sleeveless version rather than waiting until the Autumn.
